Functional Laboratory Testing
Stop Guessing. Get your child tested today. My practice offers blood, stool, and saliva tests which are utilized to evaluate organ and system function, rather than looking for a specific disease. The information is then used to create customized diet and remedy protocols for each child’s unique needs.
Food Allergy/Intolerance/Sensitivity Testing
The Alcat Test is a laboratory method for identification of non-IgE mediated reactions to foods, chemicals, and other categories of substances. It is a functional response test and captures the final common pathway of many of the pathogenic mechanisms, immunologic, toxic, and pharmacologic that underlie non-IgE mediated reactions to foods and chemicals. This test frequently reveals clinically significant reactions that don’t fall within the conventional definition of an allergy.
The term “allergy” is often used as a catchall phrase to describe all of the body’s altered and excessive responses to otherwise harmless substances. However, a true allergic reaction is a function of the specific immune system while the broader category of intolerance is generally associated with nonspecific immunity.
Food Intolerance is much more common than true food allergy. However, many people are unaware that they suffer from food intolerance because their symptoms may vary widely and often appear hours, or even days, after the causative agent is consumed.
Alcat Testing is based on the understanding that food intolerances arise from activation of cellular responses of the innate immune system. Instead of perceiving them as harmless, the immune system responds to specific foods and other substances as though they were threats requiring aggressive targeting, which, in fact, they may be.
Biohealth GI Pathogen Screening
This stool test provides information on gut health. An overgrowth of microorganisms that are normally present in the intestines and the presence of microorganisms that are not normally present in the intestines can be cause for concern. Imbalance in the gut can have digestive, immune, neurological, and behavioral implications. This test will help pinpoint the root cause so that it may be efficiently addressed resulting in improved health.
Over 50% of the population may have a genetic defect and it could be affecting your child’s health.
The MethlyDetox Profile tests critical genes in the methylation pathway and can be done as a saliva or blood test. The methylation pathway is the major part of detoxification and the metabolic cycle. Based on your genetics, this profile enables you to address many important chronic medical conditions by using nutrition and nutrient supplementation.
The MethlyDetox Profile is helpful for individuals with cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, genetic disorders, metabolic conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, eye diseases, and cancer.
